Looking after a busy distribution roster consist of 125+ varied record labels and artists, 300+ releases on average a year; being the main point of contact for product management and marketing of new physical and digital releases across multiple territories worldwide, as well as back catalogue development.
Responsibilities include handling the daily operational and administrative queries/needs efficiently; liaising with suppliers to collate full product info, metadata and all types of digital content including marketing assets, and set up releases, co-plan PR campaigns, set priorities under strict deadlines and pressure, worldwide coordination ensuring the deadlines are met; prepare pitch-materials and updates, handle bulk catalogue transitions;
Working closely with Sales teams on release scheduling and priorities, setting bespoke retail pricing and marketing strategies for releases in line with forecasts and budget; designating exclusive products for retailers; running campaigns for key periods and special events; assisting Stock Control and Operations (Supply Chain and Ops, including D2C channels) team with monitoring and ordering stock;
Supporting clients in how to use systems, various marketing and analytics tools, and provide them guidance/FAQs and insight with sales analytics through interim sales, monitoring the charts, and shipping reports; initiating technical and informative side projects for improving overall client experience;
Helping Business Affairs for ingesting new business/label integrations and renewals process, MCPS handling; representing Proper at BPI Independent Committee meetings, various industry events such as AIM, Showcase Scotland, Awards and gigs.
Key Achievements: Managed acclaimed releases by Afrocelt Sound System (a total of half million album seller and two-time Grammy nominee), Multi-award winner Cara Dillon’s “Upon a Winter’s Night” UK Indie charts #16, “Wanderer” - UK Indie Album Breakers Chart entered at #1, UK top 100 Charts #89; globally chart-breaking 2017 Best Album of the Year Oumou Sangaré - Indie Album Chart #41, Indie Album Breakers Chart #7, Europe World Music Charts #2, leading French indie La Femme’s “Mystère” #3 at midweeks; remarkable releases by folk-rock legend Fairport Convention #187, labels looked after include but not limited to the oldest living indie label Topic Records, IDOL, and intermittently Redeye, MIG releases.
