About me
www.creativeisaac.co.uk I started out at a print design company where I worked as a designer on a massive range of printed material from ads, booklets, brochures, branding etc. The company created plates for press, and I managed reproduction looking at ink weights along with laying out magazines and creating brands. I got a fantastic grounding and learnt a huge amount of print knowledge before landing a role in one of the best creative agencies in Australasia / South East Asia in Clemenger BBDO. At Clemenger, I worked my way up as a Designer and became the deputy to the Head of Art. There I learnt to really craft my design work, producing and retouching imagery, photography, illustration, typography on a wide range of creative projects. In this role I managed to win a D&AD Pencil for my Typography on a project for NZ Post - A-Z of NZ https://www.dandad.org/awards/professional/2009/typography/17566/a-z-of-new-zealand/. I was able to get involved with storyboarding, directing shoots and conceptual brainstorming working collaboratively with a large creative dept of 12 Creative Teams and around 10 designers. When the Head of Art left to start his own agency, I took on his responsibility as well as working as an out and out art director on projects. Following this,I freelanced at agencies like Saatchi NZ and worked on a rebrand for Women’s Refuge NZ, before moving to London and starting off as a freelance Art Director over here. I decided that I wanted to work in agencies where I could make work that positively impacted people’s lives and got into Health communications. For over 5 years, I worked at three top Healthcare communications agencies in highly conceptual roles where I would research, and come up with creative concepts for a wide range of projects such as campaigns to promote medical devices/ treatments, patient journey information, data driven sales aids etc., campaigns to raise awareness or encouraging people to act / get help. The concepts I produced, translated across everything from Apps / web to video, long form literature, events and advertising and social. I art directed shoots, designed the finished art and would brief in and oversee other skillsets like animators, editors and 3D artists to ensure the quality of the finished work. Most recently I have been working for Zinc Network (previously Breakthrough Media) for the last 4 years. They focus on Social Good projects and work on domestic and international causes and everything from Counter-extremism and Community cohesion through to Animal and Environmental welfare. (https://zincnetwork.com/about/ ). My role as an Art Director involved lots of research, taking data and distilling complex information to come up with concepts and make impactful narratives. I have worked on campaign reports, infographics and also taking the lead in projects and being a hands on senior designer, designing identities, logo’s, brand development, brand guidelines, campaigns and overseeing the production of filming for the different brands. Whilst at Zinc, I was lucky enough to completely redesign the brand for the agency. Creating a comprehensive brand guidelines as well as wireframing and the UX for the website along with the visual design too.

    A-Z of New ZealandD&AD
In this digital age of emails, text messages, Facebook and Twitter, New Zealand Post asked us to remind people about the joys of sending a real letter with a real stamp. Instead of doing an ad, our idea was to create the A–Z of New Zealand stamps. An issue of 26 stamps is very rare indeed, and this number gave us the scope to add real breadth to our brief summation of great New Zealand people, events and cultural icons. The initial release sold out in less than a week. A subsequent reprint also sold out so quickly that a third reprint is now under way.
