I was born in León (Mexico) where I studied and developed most of my educational identity, during this time I also lived on the west coast of Mexico and in Berlin. After high school, I moved to Prague where I studied Architecture.
Talking about my professional life... I don’t like to be defined and pegged into a category. I like various kinds of disciplines mostly related to creating new things. I enjoy and know about fashion and editorial design, urban studies, illustrations, interior design, geography, graphic design, large and small architecture, and some other disciplines. When we graduate from school, we still have a lot to learn but we have the foundations for everything somehow.
Sometimes I ask myself: “Why would someone hire me and not a renowned firm or person?” Innovation comes from the outside, not from within the industry. If they hired a highly specialized firm, they would end up repeating previous styles over and over again. Trusting in new talents can contribute to realize avant-garde projects that would stand out in the competitive market.
When I design I focus on the feeling of the place and the context. For me architecture is not about the complexity of structures or spaces, it is about making a pleasant place where people can feel happy.
