My job at a juice and cocktail bar equipped me with cocktail making knowledge and bar serving skills.
I learnt how to prepare fruit under food hygiene regulations and how to follow the challenge 25 policy when serving alcohol.
I was also required to memorise both the juice and cocktail menu, ingredients and prices.
Located in the Southbank Centre Food Market we experienced large queues, meaning I had to simultaneously make drinks, take new orders and maintain friendly conversation with customers.
In the instance of any lull in customers, I efficiently identified where I could be of use to my colleagues, such as preparing more fruit, re-stocking the fridges and ensuring a clean workspace was preserved.
