Hello! I’m Isobel, an illustrator and graphic designer, currently based in the UK. I recently finished my BA Illustration (Hons) at Cambridge School of Art.
My practice combines analogue and digital media, working between my sketchbook and tablet. I begin with simple colours and shapes, then layer various textures and patterns on top of these to create my illustrations. Designing playful characters and typography is a passion of mine. I find inspiration in folk art, film, and children’s books, which is often reflected in my illustrations.

Projects
- The Spice of LifePart of a mock-brief, this magazine spread promotes the spice ginger in a speculative advert for Waitrose Food Magazine. Close attention was paid to the brand's house-style, using similar fonts, colours, and themes. With a keen focus on botanical and food illustration, this project seeked to capture ginger's Indian roots. The food illustrations were drawn with fineliners and then digitally manipulated in Photoshop to create the final composition.
- Frog FablesA series of images based on fables about frogs including: ‘The Frog and The Mouse’, ‘The Frogs’ Complaint Against the Sun’, ‘The Frog and The Ox’ and ‘The Hare and The Frogs’. This project was mainly made using Procreate, however there are elements that were created through layers of acrylic ink, coloured pencils and graphic markers. Each piece encapsulates the fable it was based on; the images capture the main themes of their fables. These pictures are intended to be used as children’s book ill
- Am I the Loch Ness Monster?‘Am I the Loch Ness Monster?’ is a children’s book that I wrote and illustrated in 2019. The story follows ‘Lachlan’, a lonely creature who inhabits Scotland’s Loch Ness, on his quest to announce his existence to the world. This project tackles the themes of: loneliness, friendship and acceptance. The book’s illustrations were made using acrylic ink, paint markers and coloured pencils. This project allowed me to explore one of my passions, designing playful and colourful characters. Featured ar
