About me
Israel Sol was born in Coyoacan, Mexico City, Mexico, 1979. Thanks to his father’s influence, an industrial designer by profession, and that of his Uncle Rafael, an actor by profession, Israel developed a keen interest in both audiovisual arts and architecture. His art studies began in 2000 at the National Autonomous University of Mexico, and he combined this study path with his first experiences as assistant at a shop producing stage props for commercials, advertisements and cinema (Atrezzo and Red Carpet for “21 Grams” and various other productions). Once he concluded his studies, he delved into the world of decoration, where he had the opportunity to learn to work with spaces and materials firsthand, from the technical perspective. During this time he began his architectural studies, also at the UNAM, in 2005, with a focus on Interior Architecture, and subsequently Business Administration at the ITESM, the Technological and Higher Studies Institute of Monterrey. Israel then embarked on launching a major enterprise called “The Best House”, centered on Interior Design. After working for several top-level interior design companies (Thomasville, Furniture Brands, Minor&Santana, HunterDouglas) as well, he decided to merge all of his fields of expertise at the time with his business acumen and his passion for the arts, and thus embarked on his first experiences as Art Director for projects developed by the CCC (Centre for Cinema Training), including the following films: “Que Camila no se muera” (Martin Bautista, 2007), Art Director; “Amor en día hábil” (Martin Bautista, 2009) Art Director. “Sol Negro” (Fernando León de Aranoa, 2012) Production Design. “Los árboles fueron testigos” (Francisco Atristain, 2011), Art Director and Production Design. In 2006, in a multiple partner enterprise, the production agency “Los 4 producen sin ti” was launched, and thus began a new field of work for Israel in advertising, commercials, pilots for series, and reality shows. This greatly enriched Israel’s accumulated experience. In 2007, thanks to his business acumen, “Props Rentals” was launched as a personal project. This company combines the rental of props for cinema, advertising, television and events, in addition to art direction services. Henceforth, the list of work carried out in the audiovisual world by Israel and his enterprises is very long, and encompasses Israel’s skills as Art Director, Production Design, and Prop Master. In Mexico he has worked with producers such as “ENDEMOL”, “ALAZRAKI”, “TURNER” and “FOX”. Some of his most recent and renowned work includes: “Gran Hermano USA latino 2016” (Endemol), Prop Master. “Golf Master Mexico Tour 2015” (Alazraki Films), Art Director and 2nd Direction Assistant. “Juan Diego el Indio de Guadalupe” (Alan Cotón, 2015), Beverly Hills Productions, Art Director. “Impractical Jokers” (José Lascurain Farrell, 2014) Endemol: Art Director. “Spot Macabro XII” (Macabro Films, S.L 2014), Art Director. “Plástico” (Ricardo Soto, 2015) CCC: Production Design. Art Director (Winner of Global GIFF 2015 in Best Mexican Film category). Israel’s experience is broad and far ranging; at present his interest centers on the European market and he is seeking job opportunities there. When I was 7 yrs. old, my Uncle Rafael –an actor by profession− took me along with him to a cinema production forum, Estudios Churubusco. This marked the start of my passion for the world of audiovisuals. For years I have merged my art studies with scenic design at specialized workshops, where I learned techniques for developing props for cinema, television and events. My passion for scenic design and manufacturing processes using varied materials led me to open two production and sales shops. “The Best House” encouraged me to embark on my second career path, architecture, and delve deeper into the business world. Subsequently, thanks to my work with several US-based furniture and decoration companies, I learned techniques in the fields of marketing, trends, management and concept selling. Throughout these years of hard work and preparation, I have been building my lifelong dream of applying all the skills I have acquired in both the business world and the world of audiovisuals. This led to my establishing Props Rentals and developing expertise as a Production Designer, Art Director and Prop Master. Seven years later, I am now seeking to work in this field, the one I enjoy the most, but now living with my family in Europe. Before moving to Spain, my father said to me: “When life puts something in your path that causes trepidation, that is precisely the time for you to seize the opportunity with valor.” https://www.behance.net/israelsolab046 http://www.israelsol.com/ https://cruhub.com/user/israel-sol-perez https://www.linkedin.com/in/israel-sol-perez-36a14820/
