About me
Issi is an architectural creative and writer intrigued with how architecture can create cultural conversations and dialogue. His work dwells on the narrative of the 'black' diaspora, hybridity and translation; tracing these narratives from the field of (visual) culture and into the territory of architecture. Lost to interpretation, his work asks to be misinterpreted, to fabricate questioning and provoke the discovery of new forms of architecture intent on ‘carving out ‘black’ narratives with nuance and agency free from constraints. Having achieved a Distinction and a First-class honours at the Bartlett School of Architecture, his architectural explorations, he has received recognition through achieving The Bartlett Architecture Medal, The Narinder Sagoo Drawing Prize, and was featured in Dezeen and wallpaper* Magazine as one of 21 graduates innovating their field 2021.
