About me
I am a Development Assistant at Wales Millennium Centre, the home for the arts in Wales. I thrive in face-to-face interaction but also have a range of technical skills including Microsoft Office, Canva, Database systems such as the Tessitura CRM. In my leisure time you'll find me going to gigs (before the pandemic!), volunteering as Social Media Co-ordinator for the Kiddies Support Scheme charity, also painting with acrylic and creating paper collages and watercolours.
Projects
  • Volunteer Social Media Co-ordinator
Volunteer Social Media Co-ordinatorI volunteer my time to creating content for the Kiddies Support Scheme charity's Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. I'm well acquainted with Canva and understand how content and story-telling differs across different social media platforms. In July 2020, I lead in designing all of the assets for our fundraising campaign. I designed all social media assets, whilst also creating a guide for the evening that encouraged fundraising as well. #socialmedia #fundraising #guide #canva

     - Cardiff, United KingdomInternship
I worked as a Development Assistant as part of a full-time, paid internship with Arts&Business Cymru. I supported the Development team in the Corporate Partnership and Philanthropic aspects of fundraising. I would often steward supporters of a variety of levels during special Supporters' Events and Corporate Hospitality Evenings. I would also undertake daily admin tasks such as Direct Debit processing for memberships, invoice processing, hotel booking, event planning, and data processing and presentation. I'm well experienced in writing copy and proofreading, and would often write communications to supports and corporate partners. Working at the Centre gave me a wealth of knowledge on the third sector not only within the Arts but other organisations.

BA (Hons) Media, Culture & JournalismCardiff University
     - Cardiff, United Kingdom
I studied Media, Journalism and Culture at Cardiff University and graduated with First Class Honours. My dissertation title was 'Music Journalism: The influence of Digital Media' which I was award First Class Honours for. This discussed how the rise in digital media platforms had led to the decline in the quality of music journalism. It also discussed how there was a decline in long-form printed journalism, but an increase in short-form digital journalism. As part of this research I conducted interviews with 30 journalists, from individuals who write for MOJO and the NME, to individuals writing for the Cardiff University student magazine. I absolutely loved my degree, as oppose to the practical study of writing journalism, my degree studied journalism throughout the years, touching on topics such as Feminism, Representations, Race and Gender, through mediums such as film, television and music.
