As Head of Creative, I head up the Video Production department, as well as performing my managerial duties) and work on a range of other new media products such as apps, augmented reality and interactive videos. The focus of my video work is wide, ranging from live-action shoots, including all planning and scripting, to animated infographics, even to animated music videos. Here, as part of The Creation Lab, I have been nominated for “Best Use of Video in Business” at the Kent Digital Awards 2016. I also look over workflow and processes on the whole within the company, from web development to design, to ensure smooth day-to-day operations within the company. This includes the introduction of new staff initiatives, such as the Lab Chats (internal staff evaluation scheme). I look over new direct sales to the business, from trade show leads to web-generated leads. This has given me experience working with CRM systems and managing cash flow.
I moved to The Creation Lab to head up their Video Production department and work on a range of other new media products such as apps, augmented reality and interactive videos. In this role I devised the ideas, storyboarded, organised and filmed small scale video shoots, from QVC infomercials to presenter-led promotional videos for Bluewater and multi-actor shoots like the #GiveJakeHope campaign for Oxford Fostering. I have also done animation ranging from infographic videos to cartoon music videos.
This role included audio, video and visual content production for Heart Kent and the county’s leading commercial-radio breakfast show. My audio work included promotional trailers, parody songs and audio comedy sketches. I also organised and created content for the Heart website and had a large responsibility for the station’s social media activity across Facebook, Twitter and Vine, including creating and scheduling creative and unique content. This work culminated in a team Sony Radio Academy Award nomination for “Best Use of Multiplatform/Social Media”.
