During my time working at The Independent I successfully learnt to write articles in a professional journalistic style. Using their database of incoming news, I turned information into full stories for print. I also spent time learning about photography within journalism and the need for timely, high quality and impactful imagery.
At the end of my GCSEs I worked with my local newspaper throughout the Summer Holidays. All shoots were on location and I was assisting the in-house photographer. I was able to photograph high profile events such as the Hay Festival. Working alongside photographers from The Telegraph and BBC I gained wide, valuable knowledge in all aspects of event photography.
