I choreographed for the American pop music band Jagmac touring the UK throughout the summer of 2016
With three different commercials at hand, this required a vast amount of patience as some of the subjects we used had never been in front of a camera before. A hugely successful project prompting poeple who had never taken up a sport before to go out and do it!
I was brought on as an assistant choreographer after working on the same job as a dancer. The job at hand was a huge task but one that I grasped with a cool and relaxed head. Cleaning the 50 dancers required patience and an assertive presence with eagle like vision to notice any unfitting gestures that would affect the shot. Working closely with Supple Nam and Kim Gehrig, I lead by example believe I was a great asset in creating a ground breaking campaign.
Choreographed by Jillian Meyers and myself. This idea was only brought to life because of us. We constructed a prototype of this video a year before and once shared online, Hozier’s management got in touch with the offer of using the concept for the music video. Directed by Isaak Ravishankara, Jillian and myself first set out to explore how couples can intimately move together at a music gig, with different couples spread out sporadically within the crowd, how the audience would react to the immersion of music and movement. This is clearly captured in the final video ‘Work song’ with Hozier’s gravelly vocals and our choreography intertwined as one.
My role was to perform with the band as a dancer and assistant choreographer at every gig for the duration of the bands life span, from X-factor to when they parted ways.
