During my internship at Omar Afridi my duties included assisting the head designer and creative director with CAD illustrations, research, pattern cutting, web development and styling for the AW21collection. To work at a small but fast-growing design house requires strong versatility, and learning what it was like to be part of a brand with strong momentum amongst so many other promising designers in the current climate was invaluable.

In 2019 I began designing and developing my 4-look graduate collection based on the juxtaposition of living between the Marsh Arabs of Iraq and Brutalist Architecture. Prior to this I completed two years in BA Sportswear Design where I learned technical construction skills including taping and ultrasonic welding - this side of the course allowed me to design for function over aesthetic.
