Jacob Black (1995, Bath) is a photojournalist and photo editor living and working in London. Committed, hardworking, and highly organised, Jacob is determined to use the visual arts to explore stories of consequence. Through a passion for the social sciences and lens-based documentation, Jacob completed a BA in Politics (2018) and an MA in Photojournalism (2021) receiving a 2.1 and distinction respectfully. In 2020, Jacob was a finalist in Lensculture and The Independent Photographer international photo competition for a single image. Since, Jacob has contributed images to multiple global digital and print media platforms, responsible for delivering captivating visual and written content. Jacob looks to a future working in the news media utilising experience as a researcher, storyteller, and photographer to investigate and document with unwavering resolve and dedication.

Jacob received a 2.1 in BA Politics, producing a credited research paper on moral panics and the British media's legitimisation of the 2003 Iraq war. The academic paper was met with critical appraisal and made available for public use on the Brighton University archives. During Jacob's tenor, he was often cited for his critical thinking, often able to compile original and interesting research, and was asked to moderate a number of student led symposiums.
