I’m a designer-researcher hybrid who connects people and ideas to build better futures. Having recently graduated with a distinction in MA Material Futures at Central Saint Martins, I use design research, futures thinking, ideation and storytelling to develop solutions that positively impact the lives of consumers. Connecting Ideas Working at the intersection of design, futures, science and technology, I specialise in synthesising seemingly disparate information to generate novel insights and research-driven concepts. I build facts and ideas into multi-layered scenarios, distilling new knowledge into relevant, tangible and accessible narratives and prototypes. Connecting Ideas + People I am fascinated by emerging technologies and their implications, combining this with natural empathy and problem-solving skills to inspire others to think big about the future. This was successfully demonstrated during a design workshop I recently conducted during London Design Festival as part of The Intelligent Optimist showcase. Connecting People As a keen observer of people who listens to the dreams and needs of others, I mobilise individual strengths to shape teams and communities for the better. It’s one of my ambitions to create and facilitate innovation through multidisciplinary collaboration. My work has been featured in publications such as LS:N Global, PSFK and Inhabitat, and exhibited at London Design Festival as well as Salone del Mobile.
Research: design research, trend research, futures-mapping, conceptualisation Communication: graphic design, graphic layout, copywriting
Research on the protective effects of trehalose including experiment design, cell work, quantitative analysis and iterative prototyping to develop future systems for drought survival, resulting in the discovery of new knowledge.
Visual, conceptual & trend research, future-casting & mapping and 3-d material development across client projects including Stylesight and Avery-Dennison.
Worked across a range of client projects, scope including graphic design & layout, illustration and copywriting.
Draping & pattern-cutting, iterative prototyping and quality finishings for ready-to-wear & couture wearable technology pieces including Nicole Scherzinger’s Twitter dress.
Co-designing & overseeing production for ready-to-wear womenswear line including sourcing, budget planning & resource management. Commissioned to create a collection for the inaugural SingaPlural launch & exhibition.
Working as part of the Design Innovation Department, main tasks included conducting industry/competitor research and updating the Design Futures website.
MA Material Futures explores the intersection of craft, science and technology encouraging students to look beyond existing boundaries to anticipate future needs, desires, and challenges.
