I’m a designer-researcher hybrid who connects people and ideas to build better futures. I currently run Studio Tai, a creative consultancy specialising in insights, future forecasting and visual communication. We help brands and businesses to navigate future possibilities, forging distinct paths as they reach their desired destinations. Leading a creative consultancy specialising in insights, future-forecasting, branding and visual communication across a range of sectors from B2B and manufacturing to events and exhibitions. Responsibilities: + Establish brand positioning and guidelines through in-depth research and analysis + Create fresh opportunities to enhance brand awareness and stakeholder engagement + Translate brand identities into visual deliverables across print, digital and social media + Design reports and presentations for client meetings and external publication + Create and edit copy in alignment with brand guidelines + Ensure that project scopes are set out clearly, work is delivered on time and within budget Clients include ReputationInc, Inception, 一山 and Carlton Glass. + Designed a 53-page digital industry report, Driving UK Tourism, for Amaris Hospitality on behalf of ReputationInc on sustaining growth in the UK tourism industry + Created the Cities of Love Awards (COLA) website for Inception, which attracted over 15 supporting and media partners within the first two weeks of its launch + Produced and translated copy for Chinese luxury fashion group 一山 that reflected its values, proposition and tone to a UK audience while retaining the brand’s heritage + Developed a new brand identity for Carlton Glass and re-designed its website to address the needs of both B2B and new B2C customers
Trend-forecasting, defining new opportunities for material and product development and crafting narratives for a product consultancy with a material-based approach to design. Responsibilities: + Take a material-based perspective to create brand narratives for marketing and communications + Deliver trend, consumer and audience insights to inform material recommendations + Create colours, materials & finishes (CMF) design palettes and Keyshot renders for consumer products + Design reports and presentations for internal and client-facing purposes + Plan and facilitate workshops for industry and educational institutions Clients include Nirvana CPH, Mercedes, Subaru, Volkswagen, BASF, Speedo, Midea and WGSN.
Producing consistent narratives that engage with consumers through brand identity, design (print, digital, web), packaging and social media across a range of sectors including F&B, retail, events & exhibitions and design. Responsibilities: + Art direction, campaign creation, digital photography and copywriting for social media and web content + Developing brand identities and guidelines before translating them into visual deliverables for print, digital, packaging, web and social media + Executing in-depth interviews to uncover consumer insights for product development and marketing + Creating digital strategies to grow audiences, increase consumer engagement and drive sales + Material sourcing and technical spec drawings to bring concepts to life Clients include Reed Exhibitions, Shin Gi Tai and Moodswings Vintage. + Designed the theme, logo and visual identity for Green Living: Cities of Love, a consumer lifestyle event organised by Reed Exhibitions, as well as a range of marketing collateral for print, web and social media channels + Developed packaging and customer experience for luxury cocktail bar Shin Gi Tai’s bottled Negronis, which sold out almost immediately on launch and continues to thrive + Established a digital strategy for vintage retailer, Moodswings Vintage, and oversaw content and execution of social media accounts for the first year, during which its following and user engagement increased by over 400%
Developed a range of speculative skincare products to enhance survival during drought, based on first-hand scientific research carried out under the supervision of Dr. Achala de Mel. + Produced a literature review on trehalose, evaluating current knowledge and uses and defining opportunities for future applications based on its protective properties + Designed and executed experiments using mammalian cell culture and POSS-PCU scaffold creation techniques, uncovering new knowledge in the field + Created Trehalose Artefacts, skincare products that protect users from dehydration in extreme dehydration based on quantitative analysis of experiment results

Responsibilities: + Carrying out trend and visual research for a range of client projects + Participating in mapping and brainstorming sessions + Developing and preparing 3-d material samples to be photographed Clients include Stylesight, Invista and Avery-Dennison. + Wrote copy for a Stylesight article covering the first Wearable Futures conference at Ravensbourne + Contributed to trend research for Stylesight Megatrends reports across the 4 themes of Essence, Confluence, Existence and Dissonance
Fashion house with a focus on wearable technology. Draping & pattern-cutting, iterative prototyping and quality finishings for ready-to-wear & couture wearable technology pieces including Nicole Scherzinger’s Twitter dress for the EE 4G network launch.
Lifestyle label exploring sustainable approaches to fashion and accessory design. Co-designing & overseeing production for ready-to-wear womenswear line including sourcing, budget planning & resource management. Commissioned to create a collection for the inaugural SingaPlural launch & exhibition.
