About me
I am a young graduate who is keen to work and gain experience in the fields of fashion and marketing. I have just finished my Sociology master's degree, during which I wrote my dissertation on collaborations within the fashion industry, to examine the significance that they hold with regards to culture and self/group identity. This is a piece of work that I am extremely proud of as fashion and style is something that has always fascinated me; from the ways in which it can encapsulate a whole mood or message to how interesting and creative some of the campaigns and collaborations between brands and artists can be. I also found the whole of my master's degree to be extremely insightful in teaching me the way the world works and my place in society so that I feel fully equipped to navigate any situation with confidence and initiative. Furthermore, I undertook 3 qualitative and quantitative data analysis modules during two degrees, which have provided me with the skills and experience to deal with programs such as Excel, SPSS and Stata to analyse data and draw out findings. I have worked since the age of 16 in order to support myself through the International Baccalaureate and both of my degrees, which has provided me with superb time management skills and the ability to be extremely organised, in addition to creating a strong work ethic. During this time I have worked in a wide variety of environments, all with different customers, products and procedures, which has made me extremely adaptable to both a fast-paced, efficient service as well as a more personalised and tailored experience.

Whilst completing my studies for my Sociology master's degree , I have been working as a sales assistant at Choice in Bluewater; a high-end fashion retailer. In doing so, I have to deal with a variety of customers, many of which expect a very tailored and personalised service to ensure that they leave with the exact products they are looking for. I am required to have extensive knowledge of the brands and the products in store in order to advise customers on their purchases. Furthermore, in addition to all of the usual retail responsibilities, I have been entrusted with processing the deliveries from our warehouse twice a week whereby I have to ensure that there are no faults within the dockets so that our stock levels remain consistently accurate.

During the summer and Christmas break from university in 2019, I worked as a sales assistant at Lacoste in Bluewater. I was part of a small team in a high-end fashion shop which meant that I was required to provide exceptional customer service to prestigious customers. I undertook numerous training courses including ‘The Seven Steps of Selling’ and ‘Tailored to the Customer’, and provided a very personalised shopping experience to clients with my rich product knowledge. I also continued to use all of the skills I had learnt previously in my roles at John Lewis and Menkind, such as processing transactions and stock management.
