INTRODUCTION:
I am eager to be a part of new opportunities that will further my career and creative abilities. I am a writer at heart, it’s what fuels me to wake up and go to sleep; as corny as that sounds, it is absolutely true.
As of now, I’m an advanced-level screenwriter and recent graduate of St. Helen’s College. I studied Games, Animation, and VFX for two years and soon to receive my national diploma (equivalent to three A Levels) in mid-August; of which I’m on track for a Merit pass.
SCREENWRITING:
Whilst studying, I penned multiple shorts and features that placed in several competitions. My love of literature began with home films developed with whatever I and my twin could get our hands on. From this, we immediately grew a passion for English Literature and Language. This led to me knitting a grade A in my English Language GCSEs and a B- in Literature.
I can format screenplays, spec-scripts, radio-plays, and play-scripts - with experience in Script Editing when collaborating with my brother. My style has developed into rhythmic dialogue and engaging characters, inspired by Paul Thomas Anderson, Ida Lupino, and Sidney Lumet. Currently, I have a screenplay in the second stage of reviewing in the BBC Writer’s Room and I’m writing the second draft of “Loving Regret”, my next project.
My long-term desire is to tell stories in an ever-expanding industry, to which over the years I have
maintained complete enthusiasm and respect for.
ANIMATION:
The first year of studying developed my understanding within industry standard software and applications, such as Unreal Engine, Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro, and After Effects. My commitment and passion received a High Pass in my Level 3 AIM Qualifications. I functioned with people from different backgrounds and cultures; understanding the power of feedback and how vital it is for innovation. I aim to surpass expectations and utilise shortcomings to output something bold and new.
In the second year, my college finals animation was a two-man team led by me. I built a body of work that lay out each level of management including storyboards, animatics, voice-acting auditions, and music.
The end result received accolade from professional animators for its quick turnaround and high-quality, and was advertised as best practice by examiners on the international awarding bodies website; earning me the title of “exemplar student.”
VIDEO EDITING:
I have a YouTube channel, BBE, which I operate in cooperation with my brother. Considering it’s a rather small channel, it’s amassed overwhelming positive feedback from fans who enjoy my content; receiving 315 likes and 4,456 total views. For the monologue video, “We’re All Islands“, I wanted a painted aesthetic and to do that, I went through the various software that I have extensive knowledge of and narrowed it down. I made the visuals through Adobe Photoshop and for the voice acting, I went through nineteen auditions and worked with who I thought understood the direction I was looking for.
I maintain a professional relationship with the audience and show gratitude for their encouraging comments. The channel features twenty-six fully edited videos, each one I drew in new styles and skills to elevate the editing to a stronger standard.
OUTRO:
I appreciate you taking the time to read - thank you. I hope I could be the right thinker you are looking for.
