About me
An accomplished writer both technically and creatively looking to work with words! Also very into gaming both on consoles and through board games and tabletop RPG's. Currently looking for a new role ideally within either the Film and TV Industry or within Publishing. I am a skilled writer having written both creatively and technically in the past. I am also interested in written editing positions. I previously worked as a Technical Author for FilmLight fulfilling the passion I have for working in that industry. I graduated in English with Psychology in 2017 and would use my writing skills to create the user guidelines for the Baselight software that is used in post-production all across the globe from the latest Marvel films to BBC Drama's and everything around and in-between. Prior to this I was a part of the team that ran and opened Cineworld South Ruislip immediately after I finished my time at university. After a few months as a Team Member I took on the Audio-Visual role in the building and so I was in charge of running the technical side of the cinema including maintaining the projectors, ingesting the films and scheduling for each week. I was a valued member of the team and was awarded the 'Best Team Member' award in 2017 by my colleagues. Generally I find it very easy to adapt and join new teams, I would describe myself as a people person. I decided that I wanted to further my career in this industry and left the role in February of 2018 to allow myself the time and focus to find my new career. Following this I performed some temporary work for the Burton, Bolton and Rose agency whilst looking for a permanent position which I was offered in the Summer of 2018 by FilmLight and gladly accepted.

As the Technical Author for FilmLight I was responsible for creating any documentation for the software releases. I would work on the Baselight User Manual with each new release. When I joined the company the documentation was many years out of date but after I had been there a few months with each new release there was an up to date accompanying manual to go with it. I learnt a lot in my time at FilmLight as I had never written technically before and it gave me a wider understanding of the post production industry that I hope to take forward with me for something new. Technical writing was a challenge for me as I find myself stronger as a creative writer but I have definitely taken those skills with me for the future.

As an English Literature with Psychology student, my experience at university has been diverse as a result balancing time between the two different subject areas. I have developed writing skills and broadened my knowledge of the various areas of literacy and studied the human mind and the science behind it. Time management and teamwork are skills that have been developed during my time here more than anything else.
