Projects
- University project- book layout and design for Niccolo Machiavelli's The PrinceBook layout and design for the infamous 'the prince' documents written by Niccolo Machiavelli, reshaping the ridiculous teachings into a lighthearted fun aesthetic. By combining classical Italian imagery with a fun and modern illustration style, the design makes this shocking publication accessible and enjoyable to read, critique and even analyse. I also include references to the text with my illustrations and symbols in order to build an identity surrounding Machiavelli and his ideologies.
- University project- magazine article design 'the amazing Robert Wun'A concept design for an article on fashion designer Robert Wun- referencing his pleated designs and horror aesthetic. I utilised type and image to create a layered choppy look reminiscent of his garments, as well as lines and page furniture to allude to fashion diagrams and pattern cutting.
- University project- NUA fine art publication concept design.A concept for the 2023 NUA fine art publication, showcasing the juxtaposition of order and chaos within the creative process. I utilise a simple scheme and limited colour palette, combined with fun and lively illustration to provide a sense of movement.
- University Project- Frankenstein inspired mural designWith the brief to reinterpret a classic novel for a modern audience, I created a large intricate stained glass window inspired mural based on the messaging and themes from Mary Shelley's classic Gothic novel- Frankenstein. The piece highlights the power of technology and social media and the blurring of religion and science, aiming to capture the viewers attention with hidden details and allusions to modern pop culture.
- University project- 100th anniversary collectible selection of cover designs for The Great Gatsby. For my final university project I redesigned the great Gatsby by F Scott Fitzgerald for the upcoming 100th anniversary of the novel's initial publication. I chose to develop a selection of collectible covers inspired by different characters from the novel, showcasing elements of the story combined with a modern twist on 1920's design and aesthetics.
