CURRENTLY A FASHION (BA) STUDENT AT UNIVERSITY OF THE CREATIVE ARTS, EPSOM
I DESIGN WITH MULTI-PURPOSE AND FUNCTIONALITY IN MIND WITH A GENDER NEUTRAL AND SUSTAINABLE APPROACH. MY MAIN FOCUS AND USP FOR MY DESIGN CONCEPTS HAVE BEEN TO COMMUNICATE ISSUES WITHIN SOCIETY THAT ARE OFTEN OVERLOOKED; RESEARCHING AREAS THAT EDUCATE ME AND OTHERS WHILST CREATING PRODUCTS THAT CAN MAKE AN AWARENESS AND HAVE AN IMPACT ON SOCIETY. FOR EXAMPLE: GRIEF, DEMENTIA, HOMELESSNESS, AND COMMUNISM. ARE TOPICS THAT I HAVE EXPLORED.
SUSTAINABILITY HAS BECOME EXTREMELY IMPORTANT IN MY DESIGN APPROACH; THIS IS TO REDUCE THE EFFECTS OF FASHION POLLUTION AND MY OWN CARBON FOOTPRINT. THE APPROACH I AM TAKEN IS TO BE SUSTAINABLE BY USING RECYCLED, SURPLUS AND OFF CUTS FABRICS TO CREATE GARMENTS, I HAVE ALSO INCORPORATED WAYS TO WEAR GARMENTS ALL YEAR ROUND, DESIGNING TRAN-SEASONAL COLLECTIONS,
