About me
Jane Burton Jane is Creative Director and Head of Tate Media, Tate, London. She leads the team responsible for Tate’s film productions, including documentaries about artists for TV and online, the weekly video series TateShots, and cross-platform projects such as the Tate Movie Project - a crowd-sourced animation made with Aardman - and a 360 degree interactive video experience of Damien Hirst's current exhibition at Tate Modern, produced for Channel 4. In 2002, she launched the world’s first wireless multimedia tours at Tate Modern, and in 2008 piloted the UK’s first gallery tour for iPhones at Tate Liverpool. She has produced a raft of mobile products that bring art to wider audiences, including games, podcasts and location based apps; and has won two Baftas for her work. She initially joined Tate in 1999, as Tate Modern’s Curator of Interpretation, and previously worked as a journalist, art critic, and editor for national newspapers.
