Jayant Khanuja is a computational designer and an interior architect based in Barcelona. He graduated from the faculty of design, Center for Environmental Planning and Technology (CEPT) University, India in 2011 where he developed a keen interest into understanding how computers/digital media can be used as a reflexive design tool. Later he worked in India as a computation design consultant at prestigious architecture firms like sP+a, Mumbai and andblack Design studio, Ahmedabad, India. Being research oriented he continued his exploration by conducting design workshops and working as an academic in CEPT University between the duration of 2011-13.
Jayant believes that a careful integration of algorithmic processes in design thinking can help evolve our emotional response to multi scalar events with minimum bias. To investigate in this domain he did his post-graduation from Institute of Advanced Architecture Catalunya (IAAC), Barcelona Spain in the domain of parametric interactive designs in 2013 and worked as a researcher and academic at IAAC between 2014-15 and as a consultant for architecture firms in Europe . Later he was invited by other design firms such as RAW-NYC based in Dubai and New-york to get involved in design competitions and he worked in the computation design department at FUKSAS Architects , Rome.
He is currently working at UNDERWATER Gardens as a computational designer and managing the existing reflexive parametric setup of evolving structures and the spatial responses of artificial reefs.
