About me
For the past few years, I’ve been self-studying UI and UX theory alongside working full time in IT support, where I get to help solve people’s problems every single day. Before my current role, I was in corporate banking, having previously worked in customer-facing roles within commercial finance, retail, and grocery, where I managed and worked with a variety of stakeholders. I’m also an Adobe scholar! I am one of ten people in the world (yes, I'm still trying to comprehend this) picked to be a part of their inaugural cohort for the Adobe Design Circle, an initiative to help designers, like myself, who want to use design as a vessel for social impact. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been enamoured by creativity. Exposure to human-computer interaction in college evolved my perspective of design from play to that too of purpose. Personal circumstances had halted my original plan to study design at university, so I’ve been doing freelance graphic design ever since to continue learning and creating. A combination of the experiences I’ve acquired throughout my working life and an eagerness to get back to my lifelong career aspirations of being in the design field has led me to UI/UX design. A career where I get to contribute to creating experiences that are the vessel to transforming lives? There isn’t any other field that combines everything I’m fulfilled by - play, passion, purpose, and people. What now? I’m now seeking experience in the industry to start a lifelong journey towards leveraging everything I’ve done thus far and channeling it through my passion for design, to continue learning, helping and solving.
