For the last three years, I have been working as the Head of Content forimport.io (a small data startup) in both London and San Francisco. Essentially, if it had words it came from me - blog posts, website and app copy, email marketing, social media, op-eds, presentations, internal guidelines, the works. In addition to purely churning out words, I also created the import.io tone of voice, content strategy and content marketing budget.
• Created a strategic content marketing strategy that included SEO strategies, promotion, and syndication to develop new audiences • Authored content for the import.io blog, advertising and email campaigns with the goal of driving new users (B2C) and sales leads (B2B) • Built the import.io tone of voice and all supporting materials including brand, blog, presentation and meetup guidelines • Wrote copy for the entire import.io website as well as the web and desktop apps to be relevant and understandable at multiple technical levels • Manage the contributor program for the import.io blog, building a list of guest bloggers and freelancers, working them into the editorial calendar, then editing, formatting, and promoting their content • Ghost wrote articles in tech and data publications on behalf of the import.io CEO and CDO such as Tech City News, SquareMile and Sales Hacker • Wrote speeches and created slide decks for the import.io CEO to give at major tech conferences such as TechCrunch Disrupt, GigaOm Structure, Tech Open Air, Predict Conf, Digital Shoreditch and the import.io user conference • Create, A/B test, and send all email marketing collateral to existing customers through MailChimp • Increased social media engagement on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn • Determine, track and iterate on content success metrics including MQLs generated, Landing Pages and SEO ranking • Provide copy for PR campaigns, content syndication, and external partnerships
