I was offered an internship at a design agency in Bristol in the Motion Graphics department. During my time there, I found it solidified my desires to become a digital designer. I worked primarily with After Effects and developed my skills with the software, such as, character animation and morphing. I think this time in a working environment helped me give my other design work an element of professionalism and confidently showcased my proficient Motion graphic During my final year at University, I worked as a freelancer in the studio where I was an intern. This developed my professional attitude and gave me more experience in a working environment. Through this work, I gained an understanding for the business aspect of my design field. I established my skills and theory I have learnt throughout the three years of University and applied it to the working world in an effective and proactive way.

Graphic Design was a broad course where I learnt a range of various techniques over the three years. I studied how to communicate through words and images through different mediums, such as, film, stop motion and designed publications. I studied the importance of developing a story in the second year module - Image and Narrative. During this module, I began to establish myself as a digital designer as I started to create my own original videos using After Effects and Illustrator. For one project, I was briefed to create a series of three themed videos with a specified target audience. I chose to create educational animated videos aimed at children aged 8-11 years old about the importance of Honeybees. This project taught me how to adapt and adjust my designs and language in order to make it relatable to children. At the beginning of my third year, I knew I wanted to become a Motion Graphics Designer. Using my new skills in After Effects, I applied them to my final year project where I studied how we use Artificial Intelligence through AI assistants in the home environment. I created my own brand of assistant called ‘Abbie’ and created film and motion videos and supported them on a designed website.

"insureyourbike.co.uk" Insurethegap.com needed a brand logo for a new brand "insureyourbike". They were looking for a logo that was 'Professional, Reliable and Passionate'. I created a responsive logo by integrating the initials of the brand, 'IYB', into a bike and using a fresh green as the brand colour.
