About me
As founder and creative director of a successful contemporary womenswear brand, I have gained extensive experience of the fashion industry. Almost five years in this position has allowed me to develop expert knowledge within the fields of design, pattern cutting, and production in a professional situation. This Is The Uniform has presented collections at London, Paris and New York Fashion Week. The brand has consistently received high profile press since its launch and as director, I have designed, cut, toiled, sampled and produced every piece of each collection in house. Working as a manager to my team has permitted me to train and teach individuals within an industry that excites and inspires me. I have honed excellent communication skills, I manage my time in a productive and efficient manner and I work extremely well within time sensitive, high stress situations.

    As Creative Director, I oversee the brands design, production, press and marketing departments, leading and training a team of experienced, graduate and undergraduate level individuals. > Designing, cutting and sampling seasonal collections in-house, on and off schedule, in partnership with Fashion East, MADE New York, the Centre For Fashion Enterprise and the British Fashion Council. > Creating conceptually led collections, and creatively cut, complex garments. Using innovative and experimental pattern cutting techniques, in particular to fuse shapes and ideas of traditional fabric manipulation with contemporary sportswear. > Developing patterns for seasonal carry over, according to sell through figures and customer feedback. > Managing fit sessions, making pattern amendments, fit adjustments and keeping records of these accordingly. > Sourcing luxury and contemporary fabrics from global suppliers, and taking these from swatch to sample within the studio in London. > Managing in-house production seasonally, supporting wholesale and ecommerce orders. Creating garments finished to industry standard, which are sold worldwide. > Managing a studio based press and marketing team. The brand has worked with commercial publications such as Vogue, Elle, Grazia, The New York Times, Glamour and The Guardian, as well as independent, artistic titles. > Maintaining the innovative content driven website and ecommerce platform, and curating all social channels. > Employment of strong leadership skills, in order to create a supportive, collaborative environment.
