After four months presenting on BFBS I was posted overseas to join the team in Cyprus living and working at the busiest Royal Air Force base at present, RAF Akrotiri. My job with BFBS Cyprus is far from 9-5, from interviewing Fijian forces about their fundraising work for cyclone victims to sharing Christmas messages from pilots on Operation Shader (the military intervention against ISIS) and soldiers on Operation Tosca (UN Peacekeeping mission in Cyprus) to family at home. I’ve also flown in a Griffon Helicopter with the last remaining RAF Search and Rescue Squadron for a documentary and compered the annual international military rugby tournament. My first taste of presenting a network show and OB was not just across the forces world but also in front of a live audience, which showcased the hard work of personnel in British Forces Cyprus and also raised over £1,000 for the BFBS Big Salute Charity.

As one of few local female breakfast presenters, I also solely produced the show and social media content. I was proud to share the stories from British Army Royal Signals and the Armour Centre in Bovington and Lulworth. From recording interviews inside a tank to riding with the White Helmets Motorcycle Display Team and sharing the stories of veterans thanking the Dorset community for giving them a home.
