About me
Jess Collett is an actress and filmmaker known for her work in the UK, USA and Australia. Jess trained at Rose Bruford studying American Theatre Arts, which included a year’s study at Stephen F. Austin State University, Texas. Her recent acting credits include: short 'In Flight' (Patrick Ryder, 2016) and feature 'The Numbers' (Andrew Elias, 2018), both of which can be seen on Amazon Prime; 'Just Charlie' (Rebekah Fortune, 2016) is on Sky Arts and 'The Morning After Etiquette' (Matthew Tibbenham, 2018) was selected for BAFTA Cymru recognised: Carmarthen Bay Film Festival! She has always been passionate about films and so it was inevitable that she evolved her acting career, to run a filmmaking one in parallel. Founding The Creative Lions production company with Tolu Stedford and Kiriem Bello in 2019. Jess has become their in-house director, who's recent credits include: Baba (short); Good China (short) and Sweet Lies (Music Video). She has also directed two other shorts: Do You Care? And Liz & Richard and a number of comedy sketches. Her producing credits include short content: Watching; Liz & Richard; Over It & Anonymous she was also a production assistant on the feature Dead Cat. All this work has either been successful on the festival circuit or in other ways. Jess’ writing credits include: (short) Liz & Richard; (comedy pilot) Over It (which is also currently playing on Amazon Prime) and (short) Ambition. Ambition was shortlisted for the Eastern Edge Film Fund (part of Film London’s London Calling) and was a finalist in screenwriting film festivals in Austin and Kansas, it was also officially selected for Cannes Latitude Film Festival. Most recently ambition was shortlisted for Film The House competition and she attended the awards ceremony at the House of Commons. It is currently being developed into a feature film.
