Upon graduating from the University of Manchester with a BA Hons in French and Russian, I am now looking to use my enthusiasm and learning about different cultures within the public relations industry and charity sector.

Telephone fundraising role to raise financial support for Undergraduate Access Scholarships for children from deprived areas of Greater Manchester and medical research at UoM. I worked as part of a fundraising team, committed to the University’s vision of promoting increased community integration between Manchester’s communities.
I liaised with alumni, aiming to develop a sustained relationship between them and the University. I employed first-class communication skills through a variety of channels (telephone, email etc) to respond to any queries or concerns of alumni, whilst always employing a professional, friendly and confident attitude. I maintained the alumni database, processing any new or updated information. I regularly analysed alumni’s data in order to optimise the request for donation.

I completed a joint honours degree, where I gained fluency and proficiency in French and Russian. I have strong communication and research skills. I have a deep understanding of cross-cultural issues and have an in-depth knowledge of the Francophone world, Russia and countries formerly in the USSR. My professors often commented on my excellent use of primary and secondary research materials, awarding me 1st class grades. I have excellent public speaking skills and achieved first-class grades in all individual and team presentations.
I started Russian ab-initio in my first year of University demonstrating my ability to work out of my comfort-zone and seek challenges. It is essential to have high levels of attention to detail and accuracy to achieve fluency in this difficult language. My analytical skills were enhanced throughout my degree as I completed translation work. I completed a 3rd year study abroad placement, successfully adapting to living in different cultures and languages.
