  • Cotton Candy
Cotton CandyI was challenged to create a fashion spread based on everyone's favorite fair sweet - cotton candy. I knew immediately I wanted to use bold and bright colors and that the set itself had to be whimsical. With the floor covered in shiny silk pillows and tulle that was practically the candy in fabric form, my assistant and I began to hand spin the cotton confection by the bucket load. By the time we finished, the studio had transformed into a candy land worthy of any child's dreams. Makeup Artist

     - Norman, United StatesFull Time
I held many positions during my time at Shevaun Williams and Associates, most notably Associate Photographer, First Assistant to the Photographer, and Studio Manager. As Associate Photographer, I was primarily in charge of photoshoots by way of acting as the day's Lead Photographer. I had the opportunity to collaborate one-on-one with clients in order to meet their professional needs while thinking creatively to provide a unique, artistic take to their vision. I often traveled on-location and managed my own studio set, after which I would take charge of the post-production process of the images I took. This involved hours of culling, archiving, retouching, and delivering the images, then following up with the client to insure the final photos were to their liking. • Captured memorable moments at various events through high-quality photography. • Enhanced photographs through editing techniques to achieve the desired aesthetic. • Communicated effectively with clients to understand their vision and deliver top-notch photography services. My First Assistant to the Photographer title required my presence during every photoshoot. Making sure the crew members' needs were met, overseeing the production of the photos, and adapting to ever-changing circumstances were just a few of my responsibilities. Quick problem-solving skills as well as the ability to remain level-headed to anticipate the Lead Photographer's needs were necessary traits to execute this role to the best of my abilities. This position expanded my expertise of studio lighting and accessories, camera operations, and working with various props and backdrops. • Designed and executed studio lighting setups to achieve desired photographic effects. • Assisted lead photographer during photoshoots by adjusting lighting, props, and background as needed. • Ensured proper maintenance of photography equipment to guarantee optimal performance. • Demonstrated strong client communication skills to ensure clear understanding of project objectives. • Organized and managed photoshoot schedules to maximize efficiency and productivity. • Performed image retouching techniques to enhance the overall quality of photographs. As Studio Manager, much of my role included interfacing clients (scheduling photoshoots, answering phone calls and returning emails in a timely and friendly manner, etc.), keeping a tidy set and work space, and facilitating the calendars of the Owner of the company as well as my own. Being the senior staff member, I was in charge of delegating tasks to my peers and remaining self-sufficient any time the Owner was away from the studio. This position also allowed me to exercise my skills in Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and Bridge, as many of the photo sessions shot by the Owner of the studio were passed along to me to complete and deliver. • Managed day-to-day operations of the studio, ensuring smooth workflow and high-quality output. • Led cross-functional project teams in planning, executing, and delivering key initiatives on time. • Inspired and motivated team members to achieve project goals and exceed client expectations.

     - Edmond, OK, USA
During my time at UCO, I studied under a Photographic Arts major and took classes that explored many different genres of photography, including medium format film, commercial photography, and photojournalism. I was even given travel opportunities, as I interned in Brooklyn, NY under Photographer Jessica Yatrofsky and later traveled abroad for two weeks to Germany and Italy as a part of a major-wide study tour. UCO is where I discovered my preference for working with a team of creatives and artists. Having the opportunity to connect with models and stylists, I often gravitated towards fashion and commercial photography and spent my time working in the studio and on location with others just starting out on their creative journey. I also strengthened my skills developing 35mm and 120 film in a dark room and printing my images using an enlarger and development chemicals. I graduated with a BA (Photography Emphasis) degree in 2019.
