Having spent a successful three years at university, finishing with a First Class Honours Bachelor of the Arts, I have been gaining experience in various forms of content writing and editing, as well as social media roles. Currently I am an SEO and content editor at Yes, We Do Websites. Working across a range of different websites has given me the opportunity to gain valuable experience in different styles of copy, as well as the ability to analyse data to implement bespoke optimisation strategies. Having gained experience in copy and sub-editing in my current role, as well as on other projects I have worked on (such as sub-editing academic work, a lifestyle blog and, most recently, an art zine), my goal is to expand on this, in the future working in an edition role within publishing.
I work as a search engine optimiser at a web design company. My work here includes using software such as Screaming Frog and Google Analytics to analyse websites, using this data to design optimisation strategies. I also write and edit copy for websites, in keeping with the suggested optimisation strategies, as well as working to the client brief.
I proof read and sub-edit academic work for university students. This work ranges from dissertations to final major project evaluation essays to standard modular essays. I make sure that all spelling and grammar is correct, as well as ensuring the correct use of the referencing system. I also cut copy to adhere to the word count.
I undertook an internship with BEEE Creative in a social media manager capacity. This involved posting regular content about their upcoming and current projects, sourcing imagery and relevant information to accompany posts. It also involved responding to people who got in contact through the social media outlets, answering their queries and giving more information wherever needed.
