About me
Who's Joana?
My story began last September when I moved to London to naively pursue my dreams, just the way dreams should be pursued.
I studied Journalism in Lisbon, where I develop my communication skills and learn about the media.
I started by doing university radio - www.bringthenoiseback.com (hip hop podcast and website). Later, I worked for a year in a radio station, interviewing people and producing and editing sound. I had a Hip Hop show there.
Meeting different people everyday was part of my job, which made me flexible and adaptable. Also I learned so much about music.
After my experience in radio, I worked for a urban culture & lifestyle website- Supakrazy. I produced a lot of the content for the website and social media - photography, video editing, writing.
Village Underground Lisboa also played its part in my journey towards art and communication. My job there was to manage an art store and take care of its press.
Today I work for Stolenspace Gallery, a street art gallery in Brick Lane, where I do a bit of everything, from organizing and managing our stock to customer service. I also have experience with exhibitions, assisting campaigns and photography.
