I’m a copywriter based just outside of London with a passion for research, writing and connecting with the reader. I have two years of experience in marketing and content, and so far I’ve worked for a range of businesses operating in the tech sector, from a small automation business to a rapidly-growing AI company.
By day I’m finding new ways to hone my copywriting craft, but by night I can be found working on my personal blog which weaves together my two favourite things: horror films and feminism. Before I started growing it’s following, however, I blogged for an online brand directed at career-driven women, researched and analysed social media for a technology firm, and even pitched in the odd article for my old student newspaper.
Projects
- The Selfish Darling Blog (June -December 2018)This fresh start-up for career driven women needed even fresher content to connect with its inspiring audience. For 6 months I researched the lifestyle, beauty and fashion field and worked with professional blog writers as an official blog contributor to produce 3 blog posts a week. This involved SEO, Microsoft excel and Microsoft word.

Achieved Grade - 2:1.
My degree involved researching a wide variety of topics from more recent historical and contemporary themes to those stretching back further into our past, and producing frequent essays and engaging in seminar discussion on different topics each week.
Some of my longer essays engaged with cultural themes such as the creation of the NHS, the Hippie movement in the USA in the 1970s, the rise of the British Empire in Northern America, and the role of racism within the Enlightenment period. Clearly, I can move between different and difficult topics as easily as I can roam historical periods.
As this was an essay-focused degree, I thus had to approach and juggle many larger research projects, for example, my dissertation on London’s 18th century Gin Craze: my research focused on the representations of gin and its drinkers – mainly women and the poor – in art and within the media, and fulfilled my love for all things cultural and editorial. But rest assured, I can write about culture from several centuries ago, and the one we currently reside in.
