About me
I am a graphic designer, working in an experimental way to create original visuals that communicate my ideas. My inspiration comes from my interest in modern and contemporary art which in turn influences my work. Through my projects I have explored current political values, for example my concept for Vague magazine arose from a critique of the manner in which the media represents women. I have worked on a variety of platforms across my projects, developing campaigns consisting of both print and motion-based material. As a graduate I will be looking for opportunities in graphic design and I would also like to explore the further growth of Vague magazine.
Projects
  • Please Press One
Please Press OneFor round one of Postr Club the theme was etiquette. My response was focused on the digital etiquette of automatic phone menus that continuously prevent speaking to a real person. These services are frustrating and show a polite facade.
  • Moody Objects
Moody ObjectsThis art direction work was based on the theme of double take. As a submission for Vague magazine the objects used relate to the double lives of women and the double standards women experience.
  • Collage Workshop
Collage WorkshopFor this workshop with Eike König, the task was find new ways to recycle images and build them into something new. My response focused on creating an archive of magazines, by using a square frame to capture a segment of content. This selection process was influenced by colour, pattern and texture. The swatchs were then presented as shown at the end of the two-day workshop.
  • Domestic Dysfunction
Domestic DysfunctionThis art direction work explores the nature of domestic dysfunction and how the changing nature of the home effects everyday lives. This process of breaking and rebuilding domestic items transforms these mundane objects into sculptural and photographic outcomes.
  • AF type series
AF type seriesTo celebrate the life of Adrian Frutiger this type series explores letterforms and pushes them into new creations. The finished work is a series of Frutiger’s typefaces that have been mixed together to create a special range of designs to celebrate his contribution to type design.
  • Experience Opera
Experience OperaThis brief was to change the perceptions of opera and encourage a younger audience aged 20-30 to try opera. In order to show opera in a new way the design is very bright and colourful, this shows the opera as an exciting and enjoyable experience. The moving image campaign is designed to interrupt normal TV adverts with the movement of shapes and colours that reflect the opera music being played at the same time.
