Projects
- "Lads, Lads, Lads." Performance Poetry // Lad Culture // BBC Coventry and Warwickshire.I was scouted, and then commisioned, by BBC Coventry and Warwickshire to create a piece of performance poetry on Lad Culture. This was then aimed to coincide with the launch of their new show "The C Word", where, as a guest, I spoke about my work and many other contemporary topics. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p065sklf
- In The Mourning // Writer and Producer.I wrote this short film in preparation for an idea I had for my dissertation. However, I eventually ended up deciding not to progress with the idea. Instead, I wanted to actually try and make it independently with a couple of local film graduates. We independently financed the film, and tried to improv around the script to get a more genuine reaction from the source material. For the film, I acted as both writer and producer.
- Warwick Young Writer's Summer SchoolAre you – or do you know – a young person (aged 12 to 19) who loves writing or wants to be a writer? We’re running our Young Writers’ Summer School again this August, especially for writers like you. Come and join us for five days of writing, performing, playing with words, meeting other writers young (and not-so-young) and learn to be the writer you want to be. The Summer School is run by writers Naomi de la Tour, Nick Walker, Joseph Bennett and Mollie Davidson. We’ll dabble in lots of different types of writing, from poetry to radio plays to flash fiction to wordplay, and we’ll finish the week with a special performance for your friends and family. The Summer School is every day from 10am till 3pm at the University of Warwick. Please note lunch is not included. On the afternoon of Friday 12th August there will be a promenade style performance to which parents and family members will be invited to celebrate the achievements of those taking part across the week. Young writers taking part in the Summer School aged 12 to 14 have the chance to complete a Bronze Arts Award, a nationally-recognised qualification that builds creative and leadership skills. Young writers will learn more about their craft through researching professional writers, going to arts events and sharing skills they learn across the week with others. More information about Bronze Arts Award can be found
