About me
I started volunteering in January 2020 at Theatre Peckham. I had a regular shift helping out with administration jobs in the office. Sometimes I went into academy classes to assist. This entailed supporting the lead tutor communicate instructions to the young people and helping them learn the skills needed to succeed in the class. Working with the children opened the door for me because, in September 2022 I was offered a contract to work 6 hours a week as an official Academy Assistant. As well as Theatre Peckham, I have also volunteered at The Felix Project (a food distribution organisation sending food to charities in need). My responsibilities there included sorting food products, communicating with charities, more office admin and order picking. I am also part of the young volunteering programme at Link Age Southwark - an organisation set up to battle isolation and loneliness among old people. For LAS I have helped out with devising and running fundraising events.
