The purpose of my role was to ensure the best experience for NTU students living in halls of residence. This involved the planning and implementation of projects/events ranging from Street Carnivals, Community Events/Projects, Charity Events, Sports Tournaments, All Day and Night Events, Awards, Hall Parties, DJ Competitions, Artistic Events and more. I would seek out and recruit talented student volunteers to help support and promote these projects for over 26 Halls of Residences ranging from capacities of 168 - 1,100 residents. I am able to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously within a short time frame. As an example, I produced and oversaw a variety of both large and intimate events daily for each Hall of Residence. I built positive relationships with those in management at the University, Student Union, Hall of Accommodation and other stakeholders such as the charities we supported. Main responsibilities: • Recruiting, managing, training, empowering, advising and supporting student committees and volunteers • Planning, promoting and executing projects personally and as part of a team • Building and maintaining good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders • Communicating with over 7000 people on a regular basis through methods such as email, phone, website, social media, flyers/posters and face-to-face. • Liaising with graphic designers to produce relevant promotional materials Example Events at NTSU: Street Carnival - The event involved music on a large sound-system, DJ’s, caribbean food, live art, selling merchandise, inflatables, screen printing, face painting and more. Trentival - (The most financially successful event of the year). 24hour indoor & outdoor event involving DJ’s, Redbull truck sound-system, BBQ, fairground rides, inflatables, photo booth, video games and more. Bubble Football Tournament - 18 teams participated, raising money for the Guide Dogs charity and tickets sold out within 24hours.
