I started working for Nationwide as a customer consultant in the Digital Services department in April 2015, answering customer queries via email, Internet Banking message and live chat. Since then I have become an important member of the department, hitting targets on a regular basis and undertaking extra work in terms of coaching and mentoring others. I was made a Senior Consultant in October 2016 and have since moved on to become a Social Media Specialist Consultant in June 2017. The valuable insight I’ve developed in the world of social media has really helped me progress. I’ve also been lucky enough to manage teams on a temporary basis and be involved in interviewing potential candidates for a role in the department, opening my eyes to the world of recruitment. Throughout my time at Nationwide I’ve developed a sound knowledge and understanding of many different areas of the society through training and development such as banking, savings, mortgages, fraud. I also pride myself on innovation and have been involved in many different projects during my time at Nationwide. A personal highlight would be pioneering the introduction of banking and savings live chat within the society, which is now one of the main contact points for our customers. I have also been involved in user access testing with several new systems.

I first stepped into the working world during a work experience placement with my local newspaper, the Swindon Advertiser. I wrote an opinion piece on the then newly appointed manager at Swindon Town Football Club, Paolo Di Canio, which came runner up in the 2013 Junior Adver Awards for the best article written. I have remained a keen blogger in my spare time, interested in all things media related.
