Work history
    Store Manager
    Oxford, United KingdomFull Time
Assistant Manager – Poundland – August 2016 to present To develop further on my Supervisor skills from Primark, I have taken on more business management; looking at whole store performance to understand the trend in sales whilst monitoring staff targets and performance. Subsequently this allows me to develop action plans to increase performance as a whole based on KPI reports. I share the duties of running the store, having the responsibility of store/staff security, cash handling and stock takes. I have also been heavily involved with recruitment in store, conducting telephone and face to face interviews then mentoring new starters through their probationary period, whilst continuing to observe and train current team members of staff. People management has also been developed by conducting half year reviews with the team, supporting staff through performance management plan. Customer service is a key part of the role, where behaviours have to be role modelled to the rest of the team, ensuring our customers receive the best possible customer service, leading to repeat business.
    Account Supervisor
     - Oxford, United KingdomFull Time
Following a promotion to Department Supervisor for the ladies wear in Primark, I gained more responsibilities for the running of the department and the wellbeing of the staff. One of the new experiences I had was becoming a trained first aider for the staff and customers in store. Ensuring the department was displayed correctly, mannequins were dressed to guidelines and promotions implemented correctly and on time were key parts of the role, allowing customers to get ideas of new trends, hopefully leading to multiple item sales. Helping customers find the perfect item guaranteed repeat business, which is essential in a low budget retailer as external advertising is minimal whilst role modelling these behaviours encourages staff to behave in the same positive way. Staff wellbeing was an important part of the role, checking staff are happy at home and in work and offering support where needed. Building the trust and confidence allowed for a great, respectful working environment where training and performance monitoring was made enjoyable.
