I have recently completed a Masters degree in Management at the University of Nottingham Business School and am now in search of an exciting new opportunity within a fast paced and creative environment that will satiate my intellectual curiosity. I have 3 years of professional experience in administration roles within arts and cultural organisations. Therefore, I have exceptional organisational skills that can be illustrated by my previous work at Birmingham Repertory Theatre as Arts Team Assistant. Within this role I provided daily administrational support for 4 full-time members of staff including the Artistic Director of the theatre. This was a very busy role that required me to be able to multi-task and to always maintain a high standard of organisation within the office. The theatre had a varied programme of which everything would come through the Arts Team office and therefore I would make a contribution to the majority of work taking place in the building. The work at this theatre also required me to have exceptional communication skills as I was the main point of contact for the Arts Team. This included answering general questions about producing, building and maintaining a strong relationship with external artists and freelancers, contacting talent agencies regarding casting and passing information from the Arts Team to other teams within the theatre either by email, phone or leading meetings. My dance studies have also provided me with strong presenting skills and I am confident presenting information in front of large groups of people. I have some professional marketing experience that I gained at international dance organisation Dance4. While I worked at Dance4 I supported the Communications Manager in designing and carrying out a digital marketing campaign. This included filming and editing a promotional film for the festival as well as creating content for social media websites. At the Birmingham Repertory Theatre, I was often involved in marketing strategy meetings and took an active role. I have very strong event and project management skills that I developed while working with the theatre. One example is that I worked very closely with the Senior Producer to manage the annual artist development programme. For this I provided administration support for every stage from recruiting the artists to their final performance showcase at the end of the year. I had a high level of responsibility with this project and management the day-to-day progress of the scheme by booking professional artists to lead workshops, answering general queries form the participants, organising and producing monthly scratch performances, booking rehearsal spaces and took a leading role in their final showcase and worked alongside the marketing team to create marketing material. While studying for my Masters degree I worked temporarily with the Events and Vacancies team at the university and supported them to provide careers fairs for students while also ensuring that the jobs vacancies website was kept up to date. I have strong research skills as I have completed a undergraduate degree for which I received a first class grade and a masters degrees for which I expect a high final grade. I also possess good IT and numerical skills as I use Excel, email and Microsoft Word on a daily basis. I have very good attention to detail as during my time working at the theatre I would draft contracts for freelance artists and touring shows. For this is was very important that all of the information was correct before sent out and I would sometimes be required to negotiate the terms of touring shows' contracts including dates and fees. I believe that the varied experience that I possess up to this point in addition to being a very fast learner that is able to understand new concepts easily and retain new pieces of information well will make me a valuable addition to your team.

It was my responsibility to line manage a group of 6 tour representatives who directly looked after the student during the weekend. My responsibilities included working closely with the tour directors to ensure that the tour representatives were kept informed about events and activities as well as providing extra support in challenging situations and managing their time and resources.
worked on a temporary contract in the Events & Vacancies team within the Careers Services department at University of Nottingham. It was my responsibility to provide support for events such as careers fairs and employer talks as well as day to day administration duties such as approving job applications on the careers website. I also attended employer open days and provided blog posts with information about the event for the careers newsletter.

During my time at this leading regional theatre I gained experience in drafting contracts, managing budgets, producing, event planning and management, financial administration, personal assisting, casting, negotiation, information presentation, taking an active role in programming meetings and marketing strategy. I would also support non-local artists by organising their travel, accommodation and per diems and I was also part of the administration team that set up and maintained the Artifax database system. This contract was originally for one year and was made permanent at the end of the first year.
Dance4 is an international experimental dance organisation. I was responsible for handling emails, phone calls, post and dealing with general enquiries. As well as booking accommodation and travel for artists and board members, minute taking for staff meetings and managing stock levels of office supplies. During my time at Dance4 I worked closely with the Communications Manager to create promotional material using specialist marketing software and Photoshop, carry out market research and keep the website up-to-date. I also played a central role within the festival marketing by assisting with online and print distribution and developing an online viral campaign for festival promotion. I worked very closely with the General Manager who I assisted with financial administration and book keeping with the use of AccountEdge.
Global Education Derby is a charitable organisation that works with schools and young people to raise awareness of global issues. I supported the youth work team on a project called Money, Power, Respect that worked with young men that were at high risk of being involved in the local gang culture. I helped organise sessions with group members, planned and managed the dissemination event and wrote a winning Lottery funding application so that the project could keep running.
