I love being a creative producer, the spark of a new idea right through to the realisation of the project motivates and animates me. I have refined my skills over the course of my career, allowing me to know exactly what is needed and when, from pre to post production to produce engrossing and memorable videos.
Designed on air content and launched two film TV channels from scratch: ROK movies on Sky UK and DSTV Africa, and re-designed two others: Iroko 1 & 2 Designed and produced on air promos and launched a music TV channel from scratch: Iroko Music on Canal + Producing film trailers, marketing reels and commercial promos for the world’s largest distributor of Nollywood content Answering complex briefs whilst having creative freedom to develop content Working directly with the Chief Creative Officer daily on creative concept and direction Creatively leading and managing junior designers and producers in both London and Lagos, Nigeria Producing and directing shoots for long and short form documentary films, with freelance sourced crews Directing sound engineer mixes with Offset Audio
Designing and creating video content for Commercial and Editorial projects across digital platforms within The Sun, The Times & The Sunday Times newspapers and their magazines, for large clients such as Samsung, Volkswagen, Doritos, Santander and Vodafone. Internal video projects for Commercial, such as pitch work, events, promos and awards, such as The Times & Sunday Times Travel Awards and the Media Week Awards. Brainstorming, scripting and storyboarding video ideas from agency briefs and proactive Solution and Commercial digital projects. Filming, photographing, editing/colourising and animating projects. Producing work to tight deadlines and to agency and client briefs, whilst understanding the News UK brands and their needs. Meeting with clients and agencies face to face to communicate and explore and develop creative ideas, and in order to get sign off on projects. Taking lead on creative projects from pre-production to post production, managing large projects that involve outside production companies and multiple freelancers. Working closely with print and graphic designers in order to keep the creative fluent and consistent across projects.
Managing a team in day to day running of a camera equipment facility company, preparing, maintaining, cross hiring and buying broadcast equipment. Responsible for staff training and ensuring all deadlines were met. Liaising with both company bookers and clients for all their technical needs. Up to date practical knowledge of camera equipment. Being first point of contact for freelance crews on large scale television shoots. Experienced camera assistant/focus puller/camera operator, (camera operator on 'London Marathon Promo 2010' (BBC), as a focus puller on 'Dr Gustav Grippenschaaft' (BBC pilot), or as camera assistant on 'Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows 7a & 7b, DVD extras' New Wave)
Preparing camera, sound and lighting equipment for wet and dry hires. Camera assistant on company television location and studio shoots, (‘Dead Ringers’ (BBC), ‘Mighty Boosh’ (BBC), ‘Party Piece’ (Objective), ‘Titty Bang Bang’ (Pett TV) and the ‘Vicar of Dibley Christmas Special’ (BBC)).
Annual internal award given out at the News UK Commercial Awards (1 of 5 available), for outstanding work over the year. Won a campaign where I produced a series of five Volkswagen sponsored 'Dragon Den' style mentoring videos of small businesses, that ran over the course of a year with Simon Woodroffe (Founder of Yo! Sushi).
