About me
I was born in Glasgow in the mid 80s but was soon whisked across the pond to Chicago where I spent the majority of my childhood. My family then moved back to Scotland where I reconnected with my roots throughout my teenage years before flying the nest to spent my late teens and early twenties in France, Austria and Switzerland. Throughout my twenties I've been studying at university in Glasgow then with a multinational company in England before returning to postgraduate studies in Design Innovation at the Glasgow School of Art.
Over the course of my working life, I have had tremendous amount of people from all walks of life and been able to do so in some really interesting places. I have had to learn to be adaptable and considerate but also assertive and it really all depends on the situation I find myself in.
We are living in a world that is getting faster and faster and in order to stay ahead of people; to learn from and to help out. How you spend your time and your energy who you are and what you can contribute to a situation/project/endeavour is where you find your purpose.
I have always strived to push myself into new situations, to adapt and to grow.
As Albert Einstein said;
"We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them"

Work history
System Designer
Digital transformation of transport operations systems from paper-based into a web application that integrates with directly with front line staff, senior leadership, smart ticketing systems and other enterprise applications.
Led the conceptualisation and prototyping of the application and formed half of the team that demo-ed the product to senior leadership as well as peers at the Department for Transport, TfL, London Underground and HS2.
Implemented Git (in the form of Bitbucket) into the design and development workflow.
Formalised the agile development methodology within the team by leading in sprint planning, retrospectives and reporting.
Implemented Trello for team task management to facilitate greater communication amongst the team as well as streamlining reporting of team performance (burndown charts etc.)
System Designer

Designing mechanical and electronic systems for Rolls Royce's multi-billion flagship large civil jet engine in conjunction with the software engineers.
Negotiating flight authorisation of the software onto the test engines with all the Chief Engineers on the project.
