Welcome to the world of John-Paul Gibbs where colourful compositions and music are connected in their relationship to each other and compelled to prints on canvas via digitalised photoshop of painted illustrations. The smashing of these mediums can be condensed to cabaret narrative in film and graphic illustration all underpinned with a heavy dose of the surreal. It’s often described as darkly comic and sometimes downright macabre. Colourful excessive cartoon hyper surrealism is simplistic in it’s approach to pop art. It is a concoction of imaginary findings which is rife in meaning and content reaching out for colour reaching out for hope it depicts his freeness of expression and need to execute in his techniques which include painting, printing, photographic montage and digitalised cut and paste.
