I produced, shot and edited daily news and social media videos for the CNBC Digital Video Department. Frequently collaborated with producers, journalists and other stakeholders to identify suitable stories with tight deadlines. I was responsible for ideation: pitching stories, writing voiceover and scripts, shooting and all post production - including sourcing music, b-roll, picture research and fact-checking. All with speed and skill. Repurposing and re-editing existing material. Creating video with a consistent look and feel using stills, video, gfx templates and pre-existing material. Everything that we shot was logged in the CNBC digital asset management system so it could be used by other editors and producers around the network.
Though CNBC mainly focused on business and finance, I often tried to produce stories taking a wider view of the world, looking at issues such as human rights, open source software and refugees: subjects that CNBC usually ignored.
