    Workshop Facilitator- VoluntaryDiversity Role Models
    London, United KingdomFreelance
Diversity Role Models actively seeks to prevent homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying in UK schools. We provide workshops in a classroom setting, aimed at targeting the use of homophobic, biphobic and transphobic language throughout London, as well as the UK, where funding is available. I started here as a role model volunteer, assisting in workshops and sharing my personal story for effect. Now I have been with the organization over two years and my commitment and passion were rewarded when asked to train as a workshop facilitator. This means I deliver the workshops to pupils, setting boundaries, driving discussion, and answering questions, which may arise. These sessions are interactive and aimed at getting pupils to engage with the topic in a way, which does not spotlight or exacerbate individual experiences or opinions. This is a deeply rewarding role, which is casual and flexible, based on my working schedule.

    Events ManagerAll Star Lanes
    London, United KingdomFull Time
I began my time here as a host and after a short time I was appointed head host and the in-house point of contact and host for private party and corporate events. I have since been promoted to Events Manager, and joined the head office team to organise the in house events, as well as drive sales by recognising business development opportunities. I achieve this by initiating client relationships, securing their interest in our brand and maintaining that enthusiasm to create a lasting partnership. This role demands excellent organisation and task management skills as well as naturally remarkable interpersonal and communication skills to create organic rapport with clients and suppliers, in order to create unforgettable events in our venues. We have four venues in London and one in Manchester, all offering different event styles with different types of clientele. This position is about representing the brand and ensuring our clients get the best possible experience. We have team and personal budgets and are generally responsible for our own workload, but we support each other where needed. We also attend networking events and host VIP or high profile clients if we feel it is particularly necessary. Working with strict deadlines and various computer systems to record and manage our workload, this is a fast-paced and exciting position with a great deal of job satisfaction.
