    Assistant PublicistPremier
Bucknall St, West End, London, UKFull Time
I have assisted on the UK campaigns for a variety of releases, covering titles as diverse as Tim Burton’s ‘Dumbo’ to Irish drama ‘Calm With Horses’. This includes drafting and sending press releases, creating email pitches and placing talent pieces, sourcing and circulating relevant materials, ensuring key reviewers have seen the film and helping run press junkets. Extensive communication is crucial in managing the workload within the team and sharing information with the relevant external parties. Assistant publicists are also responsible for crucial administrative roles, such as ensuring that: our database is up to date, the department’s slate is accurate and the necessary coverage is monitored. Aptitude in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Outlook), as well as Google Docs, Sheets and Slides, is crucial to the job. For two seasons, I have joined the department’s industry-leading awards team, which entails running the BAFTA and AMPAS campaigns for a wide slate of titles from clients including Netflix, Disney and Universal. This necessitates an ability to manage competing deadlines, maintain a key eye for detail and, crucially, remain calm under extreme pressure. The first year saw me collating and managing guest-lists, signing-in events and compiling reports to send back to the studios, as well as providing general on-the-ground support. I sought out more responsibility for the second year, getting much more involved in the organisation of the events. This meant liaising with venues, caterers, furniture suppliers and tech teams, as well as studio execs and talent reps, to ensure that every base was covered and all was signed-off in a timely manner. I took the lead in creating ‘event documents’, which acted as bibles for all parties present during the event and included extensive breakdowns on logistics, timings and contact information. It was also my job to ensure that the events were sufficiently staffed, manage the sign-in process and frequently take the lead as the on-site point-person.

Further achievements include: - Setting quarterly targets for my team based on qualitative aspects of our performance - Establishing each of the nine writers as specialists in key areas of the National business unit - Chairing monthly blog meetings and ensuring a steady, consistent output of entertaining content - Helping spearhead several new SEO initiatives alongside the Head of SEO - Revamping quarterly business reports by creating funny and informative short films with my team - Interviewing, hiring and training new members of staff to maintain quality output

Bachelor of Arts (with Honours) in Film Studies, First ClassUniversity of Warwick
     - Coventry, United Kingdom
I undertook a three-year course in the academic study of film, at a university that was then the top in the country for the subject. During this time I explored the many facets of film art, history and theory, as well as immersing myself in national cinemas (particularly Italian and Japanese). I achieved consistently high grades in the various essays I completed throughout, in particular: - An examination of the representation of feminism in '10 Things I Hate About You' - The relative historical accuracies of 'Control' and '24-Hour Party People' - Comparative readings of the 'Matrix' trilogy in relation to Nietzsche and Baudrillard The Film department selected me as the spokesperson for my year, requiring me to write a testimony for the prospectus and film a talking head for the website: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ux7GyvRQ2gU.
