Hello - I am Josh!
Thank you for taking the time to look into my profile on Dots Jobs. I have worked for a variety of creative exciting start-up companies across London, in industries including an e-commerce marketplace (2+ years) and artisan soft drinks manufacturer (2+ years). This myriad of experiences has led to several strong skills in branding, copywriting and creative writing, designing for web and print, customer service skills and marketing. Working for smaller businesses has instilled a strong sense of determination and initiative which I apply to every opportunity I receive.
I am very creative and love to come up with fresh, innovative ideas. I have plenty of experience in 'curation', through helping to run an e-commerce marketplace and also through buying products to resell online. I have DSLR photography skills and in Photoshop, which I've spent several years honing through work, practice and short courses at a college in Putney. I am an avid reader of magazines that focus on design, travel, fashion and interiors and have a general fondness for the stories behind the imagery.
I am currently working on a small fashion brand made up of screenprinted T-shirts and sweatshirts, which I hope to launch very soon. Please check out my portfolio for examples of design and photography work I have undertaken.

Print Finishing TechnicianSquare Root London

I worked in the labeling department at a soft drinks company in Hackney. Square Root London is a highly-creative and fast-growing small business, specialising in freshly-made carbonated drinks. I was responsible for proofreading and printing all information onto product labels and then using specialist machinery to transfer these onto the finished products. Being positioned at the front of the production space meant that I was also responsible for greeting wholesale customers and accepting deliveries into the unit. Occasionally, I took on shifts at our market stall in Camden - which was an exciting opportunity to interact with the general public, whilst listening to real-world feedback on our products.

I worked for a London-based start-up from its early days - to a well-developed e-commerce platform. I was able to see into the front and back end of a new company, acting on suggestions made by our customers in real time, which was very rewarding. My duties varied each day, but I was primarily responsible for content-writing and proofreading, customer services, social media and newsletter marketing. This was a very exciting opportunity and helped develop my intuition and outside-of-the-box thinking, as there were often only two of us working on it together. I also developed strong IT skills during this role, in both MS Office and Mac software packages. Shoply has now been acquired by another company and is currently offline.
