About me
Currently, I'm a fourth year MFA candidate in Creative Writing (Fiction) at the University of Alabama, where I teach composition. I am also the Reviews Editor with our literary magazine, the Black Warrior Review. I also do freelance writing and editing--please contact me if you have a project you would like me to work on! I have also taught English as a second language, put together large projects, and organized events. Because I lived in Spain for several years, I am fluent in Spanish. I'm currently looking for positions beginning in June 2019 (after I graduate from my MFA program). Let me know if you have a position that you think would be a good fit!

Currently, I am teaching Early American Literature. This class covers a broad spectrum of American writing, from the pre-colonial period to 1865. I have taught Composition 101 and 103 (honors), which focus on basic college level writing skills. These courses cover multiple types of writing (argumentative, profile, evaluation, and narrative essays) and impart skills relating to essay organization, research, and style. Additionally, I've taught Intro to Creative Writing, a survey course that covers multiple forms of creative work (poetry, prose, and hybrid forms).
