I have been part of the Nahmad Projects team since its inception. I was the first intern of the gallery, then Exhibition Coordinator, then Head of Publications, and since the beginning of 2022, Associate Director. I liaise equally with high- net-worth individuals, curators, gallery directors, artist studios, technicians, restorers, and very frequently with our book publisher, designer, and academics. We are a small but efficient team, united by a passion for art and a deep respect for people and relationship-building. Some of my responsibilities include: - Curating 12 exhibitions at Nahmad Projects. This has involved in-depth research on themes, artists, different curatorial approaches and building on the Nahmad Collection. Some of the studios, foundations, and artworks I’ve worked in close proximity with include: Urs Fischer, Pablo Picasso, Mark Rothko, Joan Miró, James Turrell, Petra Cortright, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Alexander Calder, Marie Laurencin, Max Ernst, and more. - Published 6 books at Nahmad Projects, with Hurtwood Press and Generation Press. These art books are of outstanding quality and accompany our exhibitions. They include essays written by academics and are the fruit of intensive research and collaboration. - Exhibition managed 5 exhibitions at Nahmad Projects with guest Curators, and managed all 17 exhibitions the gallery has had since 2016. From research & conversation to planning, liaising with shippers, installers, artists, collectors and institutions, I work across all aspects and stages of exhibitions and projects, ensuring that they are well-organised, resourced, and delivered to a high standard. - Logistics; building planning, keeping up-to-date with regulations, overseeing contractors on a timeline for exhibition openings and important annual events (Art fairs & Auctions) as well as working on Marketing Strategies & PR. - Event coordination; fairs, openings, gallery tours, private dinners and viewings. - Market research; in-depth knowledge of the secondary and primary markets for leading artists, auction houses, and galleries. - Collection management; research, upkeep, and archiving of the Nahmad Collection (alongside the Helly Nahmad Gallery team). - Training staff, leading a team of three to four young professionals (gallery manager, gallery assistant, and regular internship rotation).
