About me

Professional Clarinettist. My name is Julia Raga, I am a Spanish clarinettist stablished in London since 2017. I came to the UK to do the Orchestral Artistry programme in association with the London Symphony Orchestra. During my time in UK I have had the privilege to work and collaborated with very prestigious orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra and BBC Symphony Orchestra and to work with prestigious conductors such as Sir Simon Rattle, Marin Also, Gianandrea Noseda, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Ben Gernon, Roberto González Monjas, Vassili Sinaisky, Takuo Yuasa, etc I love to perform in chamber music recitals therefore I am Founder member of different chamber music groups, The Lakeside Clarinet Quartet, Klei Quintet and Aeolian Duo. With them, I had the opportunity to be envolved in different festivals like the Sound Unbound 2019 at the Barbican Centre, Ely’s Chamber Music Festival, Guildhall Chamber Music Festival, etc. With Klei Quintet she had the opportunity to record for the BBC Radio 3 the ten pieces for wind quintet by Ligeti and the Six Pieces for Wind Quintet by Anders Hillborg for the BBC Total Immersion program. During my trajectory she has performed in many different venues such as Wigmore Hall, Barbican Centre, the Carnegie Hall in New york or the National Auditorium in Spain. Also even if I come from a very classical background I am passionate about technology and video & sound editing. I also have experience on sales and costumer service as I had to work while I was studying as a barista (I learned how to make lovely latte art) and nowadays I am working as a Single Reed Specialist in a well known Woodwing Music Shop.
