I have assisted various Artists in Cape Town both on a personal assistant and studio assistant basis. Some notable artists I have had the pleasure of working for are Sitaara Stodel (collage), Miranda Moss (Mechanical Sculpture), Sarah Biggs (Painting) and Jon Wreal (Sculptural Installation) My Responsibilities included practical work such as cutting original photographs, soldering electrical components, carpentry and decorative paint work under the artists’ instruction. I also carried out administrative tasks such as emailing and invoicing, collection and deliveries, buying of art supplies and studio maintenance. On occasion I ran personal errands and was happy to carry out any task that supported the work of the artist.

My BAFA degree program consisted of academic and studio-work courses. Over the four-year period I became proficient in Painting, Sculpture, Photography, Drawing, New Media and Printmaking. I majored in sculpture and have an impressive arsenal of skills in various mediums including wood, marble, bronze casting, ceramics and assemblage. Our theory courses covered a wide range of subjects including Art History, Contemporary African Art, Public Art Installation and Curatorship. During this intensive degree I learned valuable skills such as time, and project management, budgeting, art installation and attention to detail.
